Torch-On Waterproofing Membrane
Torch-on membrane is a sheet-based waterproofing system commonly used in areas exposed to prolonged water exposure. When correctly selected and applied, it provides a durable waterproofing layer suitable for specific conditions.
What is Torch-On Membrane
Torch-on membrane is a pre-manufactured waterproofing sheet that is bonded to a substrate using controlled heat. During installation, heat is applied to activate the membrane’s underside, allowing it to adhere firmly to the prepared surface and form a continuous waterproofing layer.
The membrane sheets are applied with overlapping joints to create a continuous barrier that helps prevent water ingress.
Key Benefits of Torch-On Membrane
Our torch-on membrane systems are selected for their durability and suitability for areas exposed to prolonged water exposure, meeting performance requirements when applied under appropriate conditions.
Membrane layer is thicker for added strength and durability
Designed to withstand prolonged exposure to rain and standing water
Forms a strong and durable waterproofing layer on concrete surfaces
Able to accommodate minor movement without cracking
Resistant to punctures and surface damage when properly installed
Performs well under outdoor weather conditions such as heat and sunlight
Suitable for exposed areas that require long-lasting waterproofing protection
Torch-On Membrane Application Method
The application process focuses on preparing the surface and applying the membrane correctly to achieve a continuous and effective waterproofing layer.
-
1
First Layer: Surface Preparation
The surface is first inspected and prepared to ensure it is clean, sound, and suitable for membrane application. Any defects, loose materials, or contaminants are addressed to provide a stable base for waterproofing. -
2
Second Layer: Primer Application
A suitable primer is applied to the prepared surface to enhance adhesion and ensure proper bonding between the substrate and the membrane system. -
3
Third Layer: Torch-On Membrane Installation
The torch-on membrane is then applied to the primed surface using controlled heat, allowing the membrane to bond securely and form a continuous waterproofing layer with overlapping joints.
