Liquid-Applied Waterproofing Membrane

Liquid-applied membrane is a seamless waterproofing system commonly used in areas with complex detailing or irregular surfaces. When correctly selected and applied, it forms a continuous waterproofing layer that helps protect against water ingress.

What is Liquid Membrane

Liquid-applied membrane is applied in liquid form and cures to create a continuous waterproofing layer over the surface. Once cured, it provides a flexible barrier that helps prevent water penetration across the treated area.

WHY CHOOSE ARCHTECH LIQUID MEMBRANE

Key Benefits of Liquid-Applied Membrane

A flexible waterproofing system designed to adapt to surfaces with movement and detailing.

Forms a seamless waterproofing layer without joints

Reinforced to improve durability and reduce the risk of tearing

Adheres well to prepared concrete and masonry surfaces

Flexible enough to accommodate minor cracks and surface movement

Suitable for areas exposed to weather and regular water contact

Helps maintain waterproofing performance even as surfaces expand and contract

Liquid-Applied Membrane Application Method

The process focuses on proper surface preparation and controlled application to form a continuous waterproofing layer.

  • 1

    Prepare the surface

The surface is inspected, cleaned, and prepared to ensure it is sound, dry, and suitable for membrane application.
  • 2

    First Layer: Primer Application

A compatible primer is applied where required to improve adhesion between the substrate and the liquid membrane system.

  • 3

    Second Layer: First Membrane Layer

The liquid membrane is applied evenly over the prepared surface to form the initial waterproofing layer.

  • 4

Third Layer: Fibre Reinforcement (As Required)

Fibre reinforcement is embedded into the wet membrane at critical areas or across the surface to enhance strength and durability.
  • 5

    Fourth Layer: Second Membrane Layer

A second layer of liquid membrane is applied to fully encapsulate the fibre reinforcement and build up the waterproofing system.
  • 6

    Fifth Layer: Final Membrane Layer

A final layer of liquid membrane is applied to complete the system, forming a continuous and protective waterproofing layer once cured
